Colonel Bhaskar Bharti (Retd.)

33 years in uniform. Then, at 58, another beginning.

The Architecture of Curiosity in Modern Classrooms

Talk Topic

Colonel Bhaskar Bharti (Retd.) is a distinguished former Indian Army officer, writer, journalist, and creative professional whose remarkable journey reflects a unique blend of discipline, intellectual curiosity, and the courage to reinvent oneself. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, he served the nation for 33 years in uniform, gaining invaluable experience in leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and service.

Yet, at the age of 58, Colonel Bharti chose to embark on an entirely new chapter. Rather than viewing retirement as an ending, he pursued journalism and mass communication, transforming his experiences and observations into writing and public commentary on education, democracy, society, culture, and contemporary India.

His interests extend far beyond the written word. He has explored his passions for acting, painting, singing, and photography, demonstrating that creativity and learning need not be confined to any particular stage of life. His transition from military service to journalism and the arts is a testament to his belief in lifelong growth and the importance of remaining curious.

Colonel Bharti’s story is a powerful reminder that reinvention is not limited by age or profession. It is about having the courage to begin again, the openness to discover new possibilities, and the willingness to continue contributing to society in meaningful ways.
